Eduard CX289 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Bloch MB.200 model from KP (Kovozavody Prostejov). The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Bloch MB.200:

The Bloch MB.200 is a French day and night bomber of the 1930s, built as a high-wing all-metal design. The prototype first flew in 1933 and the type entered French service in 1934. Distinctive features were its angular fuselage, fixed spatted landing gear and open gun positions. The design soon proved obsolete against advances in aviation.

The aircraft formed the backbone of French bomber aviation in the mid-1930s before being replaced by newer types. Power came from two Gnome-Rhône radial engines. The MB.200 was also produced under licence, including in Czechoslovakia. By the outbreak of the Second World War the aircraft were mostly relegated to auxiliary and training roles. Individual examples differed in engine type and equipment details.
