Eduard CX575 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the La-5 (early) model from Clear Prop!. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Lavochkin La-5 / La-5FN:

The Lavochkin La-5 was a Soviet single-seat fighter of the Second World War, a development of the LaGG-3 with a radial engine. It was a low-wing machine of mixed construction, with a fuselage partly covered in fabric and plywood, powered by a Shvetsov radial engine. Replacing the inline engine with a radial improved performance over the predecessor.

The La-5FN version received an engine with direct fuel injection, which improved performance at low and medium altitudes. Armament consisted of cannon mounted in the upper fuselage. The La-5 was widely used on the Eastern Front as an air-superiority fighter. Thousands were built, and the design was developed into the later La-7 fighter.
