Eduard EX465 mask set – canopy painting masks for the C-45F model (ICM) in 1:48 scale

Eduard EX465 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the C-45F model from ICM. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Beechcraft C-45 Expeditor:

The Beechcraft C-45 Expeditor is the military version of the civil twin-engine Beechcraft Model 18, whose original was first flown in 1937. It is a light low-wing all-metal aircraft with retractable landing gear and a distinctive twin vertical tail. Power comes from two radial piston engines. The US military adopted it for many support roles, valuing its reliability and versatility.

The C-45 and related military versions (transport, navigator and bombardier trainers, and photo-mapping) served during World War II and long after. The aircraft was used for light transport, liaison, crew training and mapping tasks. Owing to mass production and structural durability, many examples later passed to the civil market. As a support and training aircraft it usually carried no fixed armament.
