Eduard JX328 mask set – canopy painting masks for the AH-64A Apache model (Trumpeter) in 1:35 scale

Eduard JX328 is a set of self-adhesive 1:35 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the AH-64A Apache model from Trumpeter. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included. The TFace version includes masks for both the exterior and interior of the glazing.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – AH-64D Apache:

The Boeing (originally Hughes) AH-64 Apache is a two-seat attack helicopter developed in the 1970s as the primary anti-tank aircraft of the US Army. The crew consists of a pilot and a weapons operator seated in tandem, protected by armour. It is powered by two turboshaft engines and has a four-blade main rotor. Weapons are carried on four wing pylons and in a movable cannon under the fuselage.

The Apache entered service in 1986 and was used extensively in the Gulf War and later conflicts. The AH-64D Longbow variant is distinguished by a battlefield surveillance radar mounted above the rotor mast, aiding target detection and engagement. Its primary anti-armour weapon is the AGM-114 Hellfire guided missile, supplemented by unguided rockets and a 30 mm cannon.
