Road wheel masks – even edges on the rubber tyres

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model road wheels, letting you paint the rubber tyres separately from the hubs. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving a sharp, even boundary between the metal hub and the rubber without freehand painting.

The masks are applied to the wheels, the tyre or hub colour is airbrushed, and the masks are removed once dry. The set greatly speeds up one of the more tedious steps in painting a vehicle.

About the vehicle – YPR-765:

The YPR-765 is a Dutch tracked infantry fighting vehicle, produced under licence from the American AIFV, itself derived from the M113 family. The hull is made of aluminium alloy reinforced with additional spaced steel armour, improving protection against small arms and fragments. The main armament is a 25 mm automatic cannon in a small turret, coupled with a machine gun. The vehicle retained amphibious capability and carries an infantry squad equipped with firing ports.

The YPR-765 was the principal carrier and infantry fighting vehicle of the Dutch army, used in many specialist variants: command, observation, anti-tank, mortar and medical evacuation. Vehicles of this type were also exported and used in combat during overseas operations. Based on a proven chassis, the design offered ease of maintenance and parts commonality with other M113-family vehicles. It was in time replaced by more modern infantry fighting vehicles.

Original specifications (YPR-765):

  • Length: 5.26 m
  • Width: 2.82 m
  • Height: 2.79 m
  • Combat weight: approx. 13.7 t
  • Crew: 3 + 7 dismounts
  • Main armament: 25 mm Oerlikon KBA automatic cannon
  • Secondary armament: 7.62 mm machine gun
