Eduard XT221 is a set of self-adhesive 1:35 masks to make painting the model easier, tailored to the R35 French light tank model from Tamiya. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The kit is not included.

Painting masks for the model – faster, more accurate painting

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model, making it easier to paint selected areas – depending on the set these may be the road wheels, glazing or other details. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp, even edges without hand masking with tape.

The masks are applied to the model before spraying and removed once the paint has dried. The set speeds up painting and improves its precision.

About the vehicle – Renault R35 (light tank):

The Renault R35 was a French light tank developed in the mid-1930s as an infantry-support vehicle to succeed the obsolete FT. It had a cast hull and APX-R turret and armour relatively thick for its class. It was armed with a short-barrelled 37 mm SA18 gun intended mainly to engage soft targets and fortifications. The two-man crew and low speed matched a doctrine of close cooperation with the infantry.

The R35 was one of the most numerous French tanks at the outbreak of World War II, but its slow pace, poor communications and overburdened commander limited its combat value against German armoured formations. Some vehicles were passed to France's allies, including Poland. After 1940 captured examples were used by the Germans, who rebuilt them into auxiliary vehicles and gun carriers, among other roles.
