Painting masks for the model – faster, more accurate painting

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model, making it easier to paint selected areas – depending on the set these may be the road wheels, glazing or other details. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp, even edges without hand masking with tape.

The masks are applied to the model before spraying and removed once the paint has dried. The set speeds up painting and improves its precision.

About the vehicle – British 15 cwt truck with Breda 20/65 anti-aircraft gun:

The 15 cwt class of trucks (named for their 15-hundredweight, roughly 760 kg, payload) formed the backbone of light transport in the British and Commonwealth armies. They were built by many makers (Bedford, Morris, Chevrolet, Ford among others) in a broadly similar 4x2 layout with an open or half-open cab. In North Africa these vehicles were often adapted to carry and mount weapons, including captured Italian guns.

The configuration shown combines a 15 cwt chassis with the captured Italian Breda 20/65 modello 1935 20 mm anti-aircraft gun. Improvised "portee" installations let the gun be moved quickly and fired from the cargo bed against aircraft and lightly armoured ground targets. Such solutions were typical of the desert campaign, where mobility and the use of captured equipment were important.
