Road wheel masks – even edges on the rubber tyres

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model road wheels, letting you paint the rubber tyres separately from the hubs. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving a sharp, even boundary between the metal hub and the rubber without freehand painting.

The masks are applied to the wheels, the tyre or hub colour is airbrushed, and the masks are removed once dry. The set greatly speeds up one of the more tedious steps in painting a vehicle.

About the vehicle – Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer (tank destroyer):

The Jagdpanzer 38(t), commonly called Hetzer, was a German light tank destroyer developed in late 1943 on the basis of the Czech Panzer 38(t) tank chassis. Its compact, low silhouette, well-sloped frontal armour and 75 mm PaK 39 L/48 gun made it an effective defensive weapon. Production began in 1944 at the Škoda and BMM works, delivering a vehicle that was cheap to build and relatively reliable.

The Hetzer was assigned to tank-destroyer companies of infantry units. Its low silhouette aided concealment and ambush fighting, though the cramped interior and the limited traverse of the offset gun hampered the crew. More than 2,800 examples were built by the war's end. After the war, modified vehicles served in the Swiss army as the G-13, confirming the soundness of the design.
