Eduard XT082 is a set of self-adhesive 1:35 masks for masking the rubber tyres of the road wheels during painting, tailored to the StuG.III model from Tamiya. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The kit is not included.

Road wheel masks – even edges on the rubber tyres

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model road wheels, letting you paint the rubber tyres separately from the hubs. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving a sharp, even boundary between the metal hub and the rubber without freehand painting.

The masks are applied to the wheels, the tyre or hub colour is airbrushed, and the masks are removed once dry. The set greatly speeds up one of the more tedious steps in painting a vehicle.

About the vehicle – StuG III:

The Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) was a German assault gun built on the PzKpfw III tank chassis. The gun was mounted in a low, fixed casemate superstructure instead of a rotating turret, which lowered the silhouette and simplified production. Early versions received the short-barrelled 75 mm StuK 37 L/24 gun for infantry support. From the Ausf. F version the long-barrelled 75 mm StuK 40 was fitted, turning the vehicle into an effective anti-tank weapon.

The most numerous version was the Ausf. G, produced from 1942. The StuG III fought on all fronts, initially as infantry support and later mainly as a tank destroyer. Its low silhouette and good gun made it effective in defence and ambushes, although the lack of a rotating turret limited the field of fire. It was one of the most numerously produced German armoured vehicles, with over 10,000 of all versions built.
