Painting masks for the model – faster, more accurate painting

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model, making it easier to paint selected areas – depending on the set these may be the road wheels, glazing or other details. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp, even edges without hand masking with tape.

The masks are applied to the model before spraying and removed once the paint has dried. The set speeds up painting and improves its precision.

About the vehicle – Sturmpanzer II "Bison" (15 cm sIG 33 auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen II):

The Sturmpanzer II, also called "Bison", was built as a mobile platform for the heavy 15 cm sIG 33 infantry gun. The designers used the Panzer II tank chassis, lengthened by about 60 cm with a sixth road wheel added, and widened by 32 cm to accommodate the heavy weapon while keeping a low silhouette. The gun sat in an open-topped superstructure with light armour protecting the crew from the front and sides.

Twelve vehicles were built between December 1941 and January 1942. All were sent to North Africa, where they formed heavy infantry-gun companies 707 and 708. The vehicles provided direct fire support for advancing infantry and fought in Tunisia until the Axis surrender in May 1943. Their small number and the harsh desert conditions kept the design a minor episode.
