Painting masks for the model – faster, more accurate painting

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model, making it easier to paint selected areas – depending on the set these may be the road wheels, glazing or other details. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp, even edges without hand masking with tape.

The masks are applied to the model before spraying and removed once the paint has dried. The set speeds up painting and improves its precision.

About the vehicle – DRG Class 86 tank locomotive:

The Class 86 was a German tank locomotive (Tenderlokomotive), built as a standard engine (Einheitslok) for branch lines and lower-traffic routes. Its coal and water were carried on the locomotive itself, without a separate tender, which suited shorter runs and travel in both directions. The 1'D1' (2-8-2T) wheel arrangement gave good running qualities and even track loading.

Locomotives of this class were built from 1928 to 1943, about 774 in all. They hauled light and medium freight and passenger trains on secondary lines. After the Second World War the Class 86 remained in service on both the West and East German railways for many years, and some are preserved as historic vehicles.
