Painting masks for the model – faster, more accurate painting

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model, making it easier to paint selected areas – depending on the set these may be the road wheels, glazing or other details. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp, even edges without hand masking with tape.

The masks are applied to the model before spraying and removed once the paint has dried. The set speeds up painting and improves its precision.

About the vehicle – Krupp L3H163 - German 6x4 off-road truck, 3-tonne:

The Krupp L3H163 was a German 6x4 off-road truck with a 3-tonne payload, produced from 1936 to 1938. It was powered by a six-cylinder petrol engine of initially about 90 hp, later raised to 110 hp, coupled to a four-speed gearbox with an off-road reduction range. Driven rear axles with differential locks and a centrally mounted 3-tonne winch improved its cross-country ability.

The vehicle served in the Wehrmacht with a wide range of bodies - as a transport truck, radio van, workshop, searchlight vehicle and artillery tractor (including in the Kfz.72 version). Anti-skid chain links were carried on the sides of the cargo bed, fitted to the rear wheels in snow and deep mud. About 2,000 vehicles of the L3H(1)63 family were built in total; some were produced under licence by Raba in Hungary.

Original specifications (Krupp L3H163 - German 6x4 off-road truck, 3-tonne):

  • Payload: 3 t
  • Drivetrain: 6x4 (3 axles)
  • Engine: petrol, 6-cylinder, 90 hp (from 1936: 110 hp)
