Painting masks for the model – faster, more accurate painting

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model, making it easier to paint selected areas – depending on the set these may be the road wheels, glazing or other details. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp, even edges without hand masking with tape.

The masks are applied to the model before spraying and removed once the paint has dried. The set speeds up painting and improves its precision.

About the vehicle – M1070 HET (Heavy Equipment Transporter) - Oshkosh 8x8 heavy tractor unit:

The M1070 is an 8x8 heavy tractor unit built by Oshkosh for the United States Army. Together with the M1000 semi-trailer it forms the HETS transport system, used to move main battle tanks, armoured vehicles and heavy engineering equipment. The roomy cab seats the driver and additional crew, while all-wheel drive and a winch allow it to load disabled vehicles.

The vehicle entered service in 1993 and replaced older transporter sets. Coupled with the M1000 trailer it carries loads exceeding 63 tonnes, including the M1 Abrams tank. The upgraded M1070A1 received a more powerful 700 hp Caterpillar C-18 engine and an automated transmission. The M1070 was used extensively during operations in Iraq and Afghanistan to move heavy equipment over long distances.
