Eduard XT107 is a set of self-adhesive 1:35 masks for masking the rubber tyres of the road wheels during painting, tailored to the Tiger I model from Tamiya. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The kit is not included.

Road wheel masks – even edges on the rubber tyres

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model road wheels, letting you paint the rubber tyres separately from the hubs. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving a sharp, even boundary between the metal hub and the rubber without freehand painting.

The masks are applied to the wheels, the tyre or hub colour is airbrushed, and the masks are removed once dry. The set greatly speeds up one of the more tedious steps in painting a vehicle.

About the vehicle – PzKpfw VI Tiger I:

The Tiger I (Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. E) was a German heavy tank developed by Henschel and introduced in the autumn of 1942. It answered a requirement for a vehicle able to defeat Allied and Soviet armour at long range. The design was built around the 88 mm KwK 36 L/56 gun, derived from an anti-aircraft weapon. Thick vertical armour on the hull and turret gave a high level of protection at the cost of considerable weight and a complex manufacturing process.

The Tiger I fought on all major fronts: in the USSR, Italy, North Africa and France. It was grouped in independent heavy tank battalions used for breakthroughs and defence. Its effective gun and armour made it a formidable opponent, but the great weight strained the suspension and transmission, while range and mobility were limited. About 1,347 were built by August 1944, when production was replaced by the Tiger II.
