Painting masks for the model – faster, more accurate painting

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model, making it easier to paint selected areas – depending on the set these may be the road wheels, glazing or other details. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp, even edges without hand masking with tape.

The masks are applied to the model before spraying and removed once the paint has dried. The set speeds up painting and improves its precision.

About the vehicle – Sd.Kfz.7/1 with Flakvierling 38 (German half-track anti-aircraft carrier):

The Sd.Kfz.7/1 was the self-propelled anti-aircraft version of the German 8-tonne half-track tractor Sd.Kfz.7, built mainly by Krauss-Maffei. A quadruple 2 cm Flakvierling 38 anti-aircraft mount was fitted on the open cargo platform, providing dense fire against air targets and lightly armoured ground targets. The tractor hull combined a front wheeled axle with a long tracked running gear, giving good cross-country mobility while retaining a high payload.

The vehicle was used for anti-aircraft cover of columns, airfields and armoured units, and its low silhouette with the platform sides folded down eased firing over a wide arc. The quadruple gun with its high combined rate of fire made the mount effective against ground-attack aircraft. Some vehicles received an armoured driver's cab. The Sd.Kfz.7/1 served on all European and North African fronts for most of the war.
