Eduard XT140 is a set of self-adhesive 1:35 masks for masking the rubber tyres of the road wheels during painting, tailored to the Flak 38 30 mm model from Dragon. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The kit is not included.

Road wheel masks – even edges on the rubber tyres

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model road wheels, letting you paint the rubber tyres separately from the hubs. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving a sharp, even boundary between the metal hub and the rubber without freehand painting.

The masks are applied to the wheels, the tyre or hub colour is airbrushed, and the masks are removed once dry. The set greatly speeds up one of the more tedious steps in painting a vehicle.

About the vehicle – 3 cm Flak 38/103 (30 mm anti-aircraft gun):

The 3 cm Flak 38/103 was a German 30 mm automatic anti-aircraft gun of the late war period. It combined the proven two-wheeled carriage of the 2 cm Flak 38 with the barrel and mechanism of the MK 103 aircraft cannon, raising the calibre and firepower without designing an entirely new weapon. The heavier 30 mm projectile was more effective against increasingly well-armoured ground-attack aircraft.

The weapon was used in single form and in the quadruple Flakvierling 103/38 mount, which produced a dense barrage of fire. It was fitted to ground positions and to vehicles, including half-tracks and tank chassis as light self-propelled guns intended to escort columns. Production began late, in 1944-1945, and relatively few were built, chiefly for short-range air defence against Allied ground-attack and fighter-bomber aircraft.
