Colani is an airbrush designed for an effortless painting of larger surfaces. It's a double action, gravity feed tool that comes with a 0,4mm nozzle that will work great with all typed of model paints. Nozzle is a threadless type which means easy disassembly and cleaning, just insert the nozzle into an air cap and screw it finger tight in the airbrush body. No tools neccessary. This airbrush has nozzle and needle seals made from solvent resistant PTFE. Paint cup with a 15 ml capacity is screwed into the airbrush.

Probably the most unique feature of this airbrush is the trigger design. Unlike airbrushes with typical pistol grip Colani features the trigger installed on the top and extending to the right side. Thanks to this operating hand is placed in a very relaxed position similar to a handshake with fingers slightly bent whereas in other airbrushes the grip is a clenched fist with very strained fingers. Using the included universal spanner you can flip the trigger to the other side making the airbrush suitable for left handed users. By pulling the trigger to the back we open the airflow and paint flow. The further we pull the trigger, the more paint will come out of the nozzle and the painted line will be wider.

What is an airbrush used for?

Airbrush is a miniature pistol for precise painting. It sprays the paint using a stream of compressed air. As such an airbrush will not work on its own - it needs a source of compressed air. Usually it's done by an air compressor that either gives the air straight to the airbrush or to the air tank connected to it. Airbrush can also be connected to a compressed air can but it's a less comfortable solution that doesn't give proper results and in the longer run is much more expensive hence not recommended. Airbrush is a fantastic tool for painting model kits, graphic, artistic and other hobby works and even decorating confectionery!

Harder and Steenbeck (from the founders' names August Harder and Wilhelm Steenbeck) is a renowned German manufacturer of airbrushes and airbrush accessories.

They have existed for almost 100 years now and started as a manufacturer of small electronic components for radio receivers then produced some school aid equipment and small mechanical elements for cars. In the 1950's they began manufacturing their first airbrushes mainly for professional industrial use. In the middle of 1990's they entered the consumer market with Grafo and Colani airbrush models. They really gained their reputation and wide acclaim at the end of that decade with the introduction of the Evolution model followed a few years later by Ultra and Infinity models. Apart from the highest quality and precision using only the best materials in airbrush production, the main feature of all H&S airbrushes is a universal nozzle mount among all of their models.
