Description

Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 “Dora” fighter aircraft plastic model kit – Jagdgeschwader 301 in 1:72 scale

The IBG 72543 kit represents the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 fighter aircraft used by Jagdgeschwader 301 during the final phase of World War II. The D-9 variant was one of the most advanced versions of the Fw 190 introduced late in the war.

This version was developed as an evolution of earlier Fw 190 variants powered by radial engines. The “Dora” variant was equipped with the inline Junkers Jumo 213 engine, which required a lengthened nose section. The new powerplant improved high-altitude performance and made the aircraft more effective against Allied bombers and escort fighters.

Fw 190D-9 aircraft served with several Luftwaffe units during the last months of the war. Among them was Jagdgeschwader 301, which participated in the defense of German airspace against Allied bombing raids.
