The ICM 35378 kit depicts the German Panzerspähwagen Funk P204(f) in 1:35 scale. This command vehicle was based on the French Panhard 178 armored car, which was captured in large numbers after the fall of France in 1940. Converted by the Wehrmacht, these vehicles were equipped with radio stations and distinctive frame antennas for use in reconnaissance units during World War II.

The Panhard 178 was a modern French armored car introduced just before World War II. After the French defeat in 1940, hundreds of these vehicles were captured by Germany and redesignated as P204(f). Several were converted into radio command vehicles – Funkwagen – fitted with radio equipment and large frame antennas. They served in Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS reconnaissance units on the Eastern Front, in occupied France and in the Balkans.
