Plastic model kit of the NJ-22M1 Orao in 1:72 scale

The Litaki 72004 kit represents the NJ-22M1 Orao, a two-seat multirole version of the Yugoslav-Romanian Orao attack aircraft. Developed jointly by SOKO in Yugoslavia and IAR in Romania, the Orao first flew in 1974 and served as a ground attack, reconnaissance and training aircraft. The M1 modernization introduced updated avionics and the ability to carry a wide range of guided and unguided weapons.

Kit contents:

  • plastic parts for fuselage and wings,
  • clear canopy for the two-seat cockpit,
  • external stores (bombs, missiles, fuel tanks),
  • decals for Yugoslav and Serbian Air Force markings,
  • assembly instructions with painting options.

About the NJ-22M1 Orao:

The Orao (“Eagle”) is a twin-engine combat aircraft jointly developed by Yugoslavia and Romania. The NJ-22M1 is a two-seat multirole version used for ground attack, reconnaissance and training missions. Known for its rugged design and ability to operate from rough airstrips, it served in the Yugoslav Air Force and later in the Serbian and Montenegrin forces. Its modernization allowed the integration of modern weapons, extending its service life well into the 21st century.
