Mr.Hobby Enhanced Weathering Color (EWC) is an improved line of oil-based paints designed for realistic weathering effects. The Sandy Wash shade is perfect for replicating dust, sand, and light dirt, especially on desert vehicles, dioramas, and models set in dry environments.

About the Mr.Hobby Enhanced Weathering Color series:

The Mr.Hobby Weathering Color range offers high-quality oil-based paints developed for creating weathering effects such as washes, panel lining, streaking, rust, dust, and filters. Their smooth consistency makes them easy to apply, while the oil base allows precise shading and easy blending. The oil base also enables easy modification or complete removal of the effect. Compatible with Mr. Color, Aqueous Hobby Color, Acrysion, and bare plastic (should not be mixed with water-based weathering products). The dedicated Weathering Color Thinner (WCT201) is recommended for best results, but other enamel thinners can also be used. The new EWC line features improved safety caps and a stainless steel mixing ball inside the bottle.

Oil-based washes can be adjusted or removed using white spirit or enamel thinner without damaging the underlying paint. A darker shade is typically used for contrast, while a lighter tone – like Sandy Wash – is ideal for simulating dust and sand buildup.
