  • Scale: H0 (1:87)
  • Model length (over buffers): 163 mm
  • Railway administration: PKP – Polish State Railways
  • Era: IV
  • Control system: DCC digital operation
  • Decoder interface: NEM 658 – 22-pin (PluX22)

  • Cab, chassis and firebox lighting: digitally switchable

The model features finely detailed brake gear, metal wheels, delicate handrails and steps, as well as a fully detailed driver’s cab interior with clear window inserts. Wind deflectors and other external details correspond to the configuration used during Era IV.

The factory-installed smoke generator, synchronized with sound and motion, combined with firebox flicker and additional lighting effects, delivers an exceptionally realistic steam locomotive experience.

History of the TKt48 locomotive

The TKt48 class steam tank locomotives were built between 1950 and 1957 by Fablok and Cegielski. A total of 191 units were delivered to Polish State Railways.

Thanks to their high adhesive weight and a maximum speed of 80 km/h in both directions, the TKt48 proved ideal for branch lines and mountainous routes. During Era IV they remained in regular service, although increasingly replaced by diesel traction.

Traffic decline and line closures eventually led to their withdrawal, with the last locomotives retired in 1989. Several examples survive today as preserved museum locomotives.
