The Trumpeter 07427 kit depicts the M1132 Stryker ESV (Engineer Squad Vehicle) equipped with the SMP (Surface Mine Plow) system. This modern U.S. Army vehicle is part of the Stryker 8×8 family and serves as a key asset for combat engineers, capable of clearing mines, obstacles and IEDs while supporting mechanized infantry operations.

About the kit:

The M1132 Engineer Squad Vehicle is a variant of the Stryker family, based on the LAV III platform. It provides engineering and obstacle-clearing support for Stryker Brigade Combat Teams. The vehicle is equipped with an SMP mine plow and various detection systems to clear mines, IEDs and roadblocks. Powered by a 350 hp Caterpillar diesel engine, the M1132 reaches speeds up to 97 km/h and can transport a full combat engineer squad. Its modular armor and optional slat armor kits provide effective protection against small arms and RPG attacks.
