Tamiya 12658 delivers it without painting: a sheet of waterslide decals reproducing a carbon fibre weave, with individual parts already cut and shaped to match specific surfaces of the 1:24 Subaru BRZ.

The set covers the bonnet, roof, boot lid, A-pillars, nose, rear wing, dashboard, fuel filler cap and door panels. The sheet measures 100 x 160 mm. It is designed for the Tamiya 24324 (Subaru BRZ) kit, which is sold separately.

Carbon pattern decals — a carbon look without difficult painting

Carbon pattern decals are waterslide decals that reproduce the weave of carbon fibre. They let you achieve the look of carbon components — bonnet, roof, spoilers or interior panels — without the complex painting and masking that such a fine, regular pattern would otherwise require.

The decals settle best on a smooth, glossy surface, so it is worth preparing the area with gloss clear and letting it cure fully. On larger curved surfaces such as a roof or bonnet, a decal softener (for example Mark Fit) helps the film follow the body contours. Once dry, the whole area can be sealed with clear coat to obtain the uniform depth typical of lacquered carbon parts.

In this set the parts are already cut to match specific surfaces of the kit, so there is no trimming stage — simply separate them from the sheet and apply them where indicated.
