Tamiya 35250 depicts the M4A4 Sherman with a 75 mm gun in its late version. The M4A4 variant was distinguished by a slightly lengthened hull, needed to accommodate a multibank engine. M4A4 Shermans went mainly to British and Commonwealth forces under Allied supply arrangements. The model faithfully captures the tank's characteristic shape with late equipment detail.

Building the model:

As a Tamiya-tooled kit it features good parts fit. The rounded surfaces of the turret and hull are well shown with soft shading and a wash. It is worth enriching the final result with dry-brushing and operational weathering.

Tools you'll need:

• Modelling nippers for removing parts from the sprues
• Hobby knife or scalpel
• Files and sandpaper for cleaning up sprue-gate marks
• Plastic cement (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement)
• Brushes of various sizes and modelling paints (acrylic or enamel)
• Panel-line wash to emphasise detail, plus dry-brushing
• Pigments and paints for weathering effects (mud, dust, rust)
