About the IJN Musashi battleship:

IJN Musashi was the second ship of the Yamato class, the largest battleships ever commissioned. Launched in 1940 and commissioned in 1942, she served as the flagship of the Combined Fleet. Armed with nine 460 mm main guns, Musashi represented Japan’s answer to potential U.S. super battleships. She took part in several Pacific operations and was sunk during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944 after repeated heavy air attacks. Her loss marked the decline of the battleship era.
