Eduard EX132 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the MC.205 Veltro model from Hasegawa. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Macchi MC.205 Veltro:

The Macchi MC.205 Veltro was a development of the MC.202 with a more powerful inline Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine, licence-built by Fiat as the R.A.1050 RC.58 Tifone. The aircraft first flew in 1942 and entered service in 1943, shortly before the armistice. Its performance matched contemporary Allied and German fighters of the same class, while retaining the good handling inherited from the Folgore.

The key improvement over the MC.202, besides performance, was heavier armament in the Serie III version, where the wing 7.7 mm machine guns were replaced by two 20 mm cannon. The Veltro fought briefly with the Regia Aeronautica and, after September 1943, mainly with the ANR air force in northern Italy. After the war a dozen or so aircraft went to Egypt. Production was limited by the wartime situation.
