About IJN Yahagi:

IJN Yahagi was the third Agano-class light cruiser in the Imperial Japanese Navy, commissioned in 1943. It was intended as a command ship for destroyer squadrons. Yahagi saw combat throughout the Pacific and was part of Admiral Kurita's Northern Force during the Battle of Leyte Gulf. In 1945, she was sunk during Operation Ten-Go while escorting the battleship Yamato.
