  • Model length (over buffers): 193 mm
  • Railway administration: PKP – Polish State Railways
  • Era: III
  • Control system: DCC digital operation
  • Decoder interface: NEM 658 – 22-pin (PluX22)

The model features separately applied roof equipment, handrails and etched metal details such as chequer plates and windscreen wipers. The asymmetrical arrangement of side windows allows a view into the detailed engine room, enhancing the realistic appearance.

History of the ET21 locomotive

Series production of the ET21 began in 1958 at the Pafawag factory in Wrocław. After extensive testing of prototypes and early production units, the design was refined and ultimately 658 locomotives were built by 1971.

Designed for heavy freight service, the ET21 could haul a 2,400-ton freight train at 70 km/h on level track, with a maximum speed of 100 km/h. For many years, these locomotives were a common sight on almost all electrified lines in Poland.

With the introduction of the more modern ET22 class, ET21 locomotives were gradually displaced to southern regions of the country. Although planned for withdrawal by 2002, some units remained in service with private operators for many years thereafter.
