Description

Plastic model kit of the U.S. Jeep Willys MB (¼-ton, 4×4) in 1:35 scale

Tamiya 35219 depicts the Jeep Willys MB – a light four-wheel-drive field car that became one of the symbols of the Allied war effort. Simple, light and extremely versatile, the vehicle served for reconnaissance, liaison, transport and towing light guns. The model faithfully reproduces the characteristic shape and the interior and chassis detail.

What's in the box:

  • Plastic sprues with body, interior and chassis parts
  • Reproduced engine and 4×4 drivetrain
  • Characteristic equipment detail (incl. jerry can, tools)
  • Decal sheet and illustrated assembly instructions

Model specifications:

  • Scale: 1:35
  • Item number: 35219
  • Manufacturer: Tamiya
  • Assembled length: approx. 95 mm
  • Skill level: beginner

Note: glue, paints and modelling tools are not included. The model is intended for self-assembly.

Building the model:

As a Tamiya-tooled kit it features good parts fit and approachable assembly. The open body means it is worth painting the interior and instrument panel carefully. Emphasise the final result with a wash and subtle weathering.

Tools you'll need:

  • Modelling nippers for removing parts from the sprues
  • Hobby knife or scalpel
  • Files and sandpaper for cleaning up sprue-gate marks
  • Plastic cement (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement)
  • Brushes of various sizes and modelling paints (acrylic or enamel)
  • Panel-line wash to emphasise detail, plus dry-brushing
  • Pigments and paints for weathering effects (mud, dust, rust)
