About the BR 232 “Ludmilla”:

The BR 232 diesel locomotives, known as “Ludmillas,” were developed in the Soviet Union as powerful locomotives for heavy freight service. Introduced in the 1970s, they became widely used in East Germany and later continued operation under Deutsche Bahn.

Many units were later sold to private operators such as Pol-Miedź Trans, where they are still used to haul industrial and raw material trains. With their distinctive six-axle design and powerful engines, BR 232 locomotives remain iconic in European freight transport.
