Set of turned 150 mm and 37 mm barrels for Narvik class destroyers (type 1936A) in 1:700 scale

The set contains a complete set of turned metal barrels for the German destroyers of the Narvik class type 1936A. It includes the 150 mm main guns and the 37 mm and 37 mm M42 anti-aircraft guns. The turned barrels replace the plastic parts from the model and improve the fidelity of the armament.

The ship model is not included in the set – it is a separate purchase.

Turned metal barrels – a quick model upgrade

Replacing the plastic barrels from the base kit with turned metal barrels is one of the simplest ways to raise the realism of a ship model. Metal barrels have even walls, crisp muzzles and correct proportions that are hard to achieve with injection-moulded parts. For assembly we suggest using cyanoacrylate glue, which provides a durable bond between metal and plastic.

The type 1936A destroyers, known in English-language literature as the Narvik class, were among the largest destroyers of the Kriegsmarine. Unlike earlier types, they received a main armament of 150 mm calibre.

These ships (Z-23 and following units) served during World War II in Norwegian waters and the Baltic, among other areas. Their anti-aircraft armament consisted of 37 mm guns.
