Eduard XT173 is a set of self-adhesive 1:35 masks to make painting the model easier, tailored to the BMP-3 UAE model from Trumpeter. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The kit is not included.

Painting masks for the model – faster, more accurate painting

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the model, making it easier to paint selected areas – depending on the set these may be the road wheels, glazing or other details. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp, even edges without hand masking with tape.

The masks are applied to the model before spraying and removed once the paint has dried. The set speeds up painting and improves its precision.

About the vehicle – BMP-3 (Soviet/Russian infantry fighting vehicle):

The BMP-3 is a Soviet, later Russian infantry fighting vehicle adopted in the late 1980s as a successor to the BMP-1 and BMP-2. It is notable for its heavy, combined armament: a semi-automatic 100 mm 2A70 gun able to fire high-explosive rounds and gun-launched guided anti-tank missiles, paired with a 30 mm 2A72 autocannon and a machine gun. The light aluminium alloy hull provides buoyancy and air-droppability.

The vehicle carries an infantry squad and can cross water obstacles using water jets, while the unusual rear engine placement affects how the dismounts leave the vehicle. The BMP-3 has been exported to many countries, notably in the Middle East and Asia, where it became a popular combat vehicle. The design has received numerous upgrades including new fire-control systems, add-on armour and active protection systems.
