Set of turned 3.7 cm Flak 42 gun barrels for German ships in 1:700 scale

The set contains sixteen turned metal barrels for the 3.7 cm Flak 42 anti-aircraft guns used on German warships of the Kriegsmarine. The turned barrels replace the plastic parts from the model and improve the fidelity of the anti-aircraft armament.

The ship model is not included in the set – it is a separate purchase.

Turned metal barrels – a quick model upgrade

Replacing the plastic barrels from the base kit with turned metal barrels is one of the simplest ways to raise the realism of a ship model. Metal barrels have even walls, crisp muzzles and correct proportions that are hard to achieve with injection-moulded parts. For assembly we suggest using cyanoacrylate glue, which provides a durable bond between metal and plastic.

The 3.7 cm Flak 42 was a German medium-calibre automatic anti-aircraft gun of World War II. In its naval version it was mounted on Kriegsmarine ships.

The weapon was used to engage aircraft at short and medium ranges and complemented the heavier anti-aircraft artillery of the ships.
